About Me

Hi. I’m Josh!
I’m a twenty-something year-old IT/Network Technician.
I’m a hobbyist programmer and I primarily write in C# & VB.NET, although I do have experience with other languages such as Python, HTML, SQL and VBA to name a few.
I have a few other side hobbies such as:
Music
- I listen to a lot of music, primarily rock, indie, alternative and some pop.
- I go to gigs (when I can!). I’ve seen bands such as Foo Fighters, Eagles, Greta Van Fleet, Everything Everything, Milky Chance and Goo Goo Dolls to name a few!
- My main instrument is guitar, which I play in a band based in the South Coast of the UK.
- I can also play the drums, bass guitar, keys, banjo and harmonica. Although none of this can make a C.V.
- I’ve tried to sing in the past, but apparently I’m better on “backing vocals”. Ouch.
3D Printing
- I got my first printer in Jan 2025 and have been learning all about 3D printers since!
- I have previous experience with CAD software from my days in secondary school.
HomeLab
- I run my own home lab including a server.
- This doubles as self hosted storage and services as well as a test environment for me to learn and test new hardware and software.
This website or “blog” (if you can call it that), is a place for me to talk about current projects and interests.
I spent 4 years studying Computer Science (including 2 years at College). I have completed my degree over 2 years as a Network Engineer and now currently work as a Computer & Network engineer for an MSP.
I try to keep politics out of this site, and just post about interesting things.
