Hi. I’m Josh! Welcome to INTERFACE Studios!

This is my home studio which I started so that I could record and produce my own work in my spare time. I gradually started recorded friends’ solo work or their bands, and now offer my services to the public!

My studio features a main control area which is great for recording, producing and mixing. There is a live room which is the converted garage space, great for a live rock sound!

Alongside the control area and live room, there’s a comfortable lounge area for 5–7 people, perfect for writing sessions, taking breaks between takes, or winding down after recording.

This equipment is generally my personal equipment that I use for my own guitar rig, etc. I am happy to lend equipment for sessions – if you see equipment on the manifest you know you’ll require, please mention it before the session so I can ensure I can have it available.

Drums & Percussion:

• House Kit: I have a basic intermediate drum kit available, however I strongly encourage bands to bring their own equipment as the house kit is lent out on occasion outside of the studio and is not maintained for a studio environment.

• Digital Drums: There is a digital drum pad available. Drums can also be programmed via MIDI.

• I have a variety of other percussion instruments such as egg shakers, tambourines etc.

FOOTNOTES

I have a variety of XLR, TS, TRS and data cables available for microphones. I have enough cables for the number of microphones I have. If you’re bringing your own equipment, I would suggest bringing cables so long as they’re of decent quality and are without issues.

Whilst I do have guitars available, I would still suggesting bringing your own so that you’re comfortable.

I have a MIDI keyboard available, which interfaces with plugins on the computer. You’ll be limited by the plugins available on the computer. There is no analog or digital piano/keyboard – if you wish to record either of these please let me know so we can arrange. You’ll need to provide such equipment.

This studio is an outbuilding as part of my home. You’re welcome to use the recording space to record however, please be mindful that I have to work around neighbors, noise laws etc.

“Wasting Light” by Foo Fighters is an example of a popular album recorded in a garage-style setting with a home studio/control room if you wish for an example of the style of sound this space has to offer!
